The POS app for beauty salons

Cuts, colour, smoothing, facials and manicures go on the same bill as the products a client takes home. Prices by hair length are never guessed, extras are never forgotten, and every client has a visit history.

In short

Salesmaster is a point-of-sale (POS) app for beauty salons on Android, iPhone & iPad, Windows and Mac. You can create services with hair-length variants, offer add-ons such as a hair vitamin or mask, sell retail products with stock on the same bill, keep a client's open bill with Save order while they are in the chair, reward regulars with loyalty points, and see net profit after wages and supplies in Finance. A Free plan lets you try it first.

Problems every salon knows

If any of these sound familiar, this page is for you.

  • 01

A different price for every hair length

Colour for short, medium and long hair, smoothing at three prices, scalp treatments too. If the front desk guesses, a client with long hair can end up paying the short-hair price.

  • 02

    Extras that never get charged

A hair vitamin, a mask, a serum finish after the blow dry. These small extras are given all the time and not written down, and a little money slips away every day.

  • 03

    Three chairs, one memory

On a Saturday every chair is taken. Who has had the treatment, who added a manicure, and who still has to pay all depends on one person at the front desk.

  • 04

    Fully booked, unclear profit

Prom, weddings and the holidays fill the book. But after stylist wages, colour and keratin, rent, utilities and towel laundry, what is actually left?

Your service menu, priced by hair length

Start with the price list on your wall. In Salesmaster, each service is one item in the Catalog with the type Service, which carries no stock. Group them into categories such as Hair, Treatments & facials, Nails and Products so the front desk finds any service in one or two taps on the Sale screen.

A service priced by hair length only needs one item with variants. Hair colour, keratin smoothing and scalp treatments each get short, medium and long variants. A facial can have Basic and With face mask, nail art can have Simple and Full set. The cashier picks the variant, the price follows, and nobody has to guess.

Services with one price, such as a women's cut, a kids' cut, a blow dry, a hair spa or a face massage, are simply services with their price.

  1. Step 1: Open Catalog → Categories and create Hair, Treatments & facials, Nails and Products.
  2. Step 2: Open Catalog → List Items, add a new item and choose the type Service.
  3. Step 3: For services priced by length, add short, medium and long variants with their prices.
  4. Step 4: Save the item and check on the Sale screen that the variants appear when you tap it.

Add-ons: hair vitamins, masks and colour type

Extras you offer on top of a service are add-ons. One add-on group, such as "Extras: hair vitamin" with a hair vitamin, a hair mask and a serum finish, can be attached to several services at once: the women's cut, blow dry, scalp treatment, hair spa and smoothing. When the cashier picks one of those services, the extras appear and their price is added to the bill.

Add-ons also work for choices that change the price of a service. Hair colour can have a "Colour type" group with natural black or brown at no extra charge, a fashion colour and highlights for more. A group can be required or optional, and can be limited to one choice.

That way the small extras that used to slip through are recorded on every sale and included in what the client pays.

  1. Step 1: Open the service in Catalog → List Items and manage its add-ons.
  2. Step 2: Create an add-on group, such as Extras: hair vitamin, and enter each option with its price.
  3. Step 3: Choose whether the group is required or optional, and how many options can be picked.
  4. Step 4: Attach the same group to the other services that offer those extras.

Open bills for clients still in the chair

Salon clients usually pay when they are done, and services get added along the way. When a client sits down, put their service in the cart and tap Save order. Give it a name that is easy to spot, such as "Sinta, chair 2". The bill is kept as a saved order, and the front desk can move on to the next client.

If the client adds a manicure or a mask, open the order and add it. When they are finished, pick the order from Saved orders, offer a product to take home, and take the payment in one go.

A saved order isn't counted as a sale until it is paid. Saved orders live on the device that created them, so create and complete them on the same front-desk device.

Retail products with stock, on the same bill

Many salons sell shampoo, hair masks and serums for home care. Create these as items of type Product with a selling price, a purchase cost and opening stock. Every sale takes them off stock, and Salesmaster warns you when stock runs low.

Because services and products live in one catalog, a client who has a smoothing and buys a serum pays once. In the reports, service revenue and product revenue show up separately, item by item, so you can see how much retail adds to the month.

When a delivery arrives from your distributor, add it to stock. Supplies used in the salon itself, such as colour, keratin, cotton and foils, are easiest to record as expenses in Finance.

Payments, sales tax and receipts

Create the payment methods you accept: cash, card, a mobile wallet, bank transfer, or anything else. Reports show how much came in through each method, so the cash drawer and your bank balance are easy to reconcile. If you charge sales tax, set it once in Fees or Tax and it is calculated on every sale.

Promotions, such as a weekday discount or a bridal package price, are set up in Deductions. Once paid, the receipt can print on a Bluetooth or USB thermal printer, or go out by WhatsApp, email or a web receipt link with your salon's logo and social links.

Front desk and stylists

The owner signs in with the main account, and one account signs in on one device at a time. Your front-desk staff don't need your account: add them as staff and register a cashier device for them. Staff sign in with a PIN, and you decide what they can see and change. Staff accounts come with Bronze Pro (1 staff) and Silver Pro (2 staff).

Salesmaster doesn't calculate stylist commission automatically. If you pay commission, write the stylist's name in the sale note so it can be checked, and record wages and commission paid as expenses in Finance.

Client history, points and member cards

Salons live on clients who come back every few weeks. Save the client at checkout; a name and phone number is enough. Their visit history is kept, so you know when they last had a smoothing, which services they usually choose, and any note you wrote, like the colour formula used.

Turn on Loyalty points to give them a reason to return. You set the rules: the amount spent per point, the value of a point when redeemed, the minimum points to redeem, and the maximum share of a bill that points can cover. Points are added with every sale, and regulars can get a member card in their name.

Sales reports and net profit

Reports are available by day, week, month and year. You see total revenue, gross and net sales, discounts, tax collected, payment methods and revenue by service and product, so it is clear whether the salon lives mostly on cuts and colour, treatments, nails or retail.

For real profit, record expenses in Finance: salon supplies such as colour, keratin, cotton and foils, wages for stylists and nail technicians, rent, electricity and water, and towel laundry. Each expense has a category and the wallet it was paid from. The Finance report then shows revenue minus costs and operating expenses: your salon's net profit.

Reports can be exported to Excel or PDF. Compare a normal month with prom or wedding season to see when you need another stylist.

Get started in a day, and keep working offline

You don't need to close the salon to switch to Salesmaster. Install the app on the front-desk phone or tablet, create an account, and enter the services from your wall price list with their hair-length variants. Add the extras you offer most and the products you sell. If you use a Bluetooth thermal printer, connect it too.

If the internet drops, checkout keeps working. Sales are saved on the device and sent to the cloud when the connection is back. Offline mode works for up to 7 days; after that the app needs to connect briefly to sync. Because your data lives in your account, nothing is lost if a device breaks or is replaced.

Step-by-step guides for every feature are in the Salesmaster Help Centre, and our team is on WhatsApp if you need help setting up your service menu.

Which plan fits your salon

Start by counting clients per day. A salon serving about 6 clients a day records roughly 180 transactions a month.

Frequently asked questions

Can service prices depend on hair length?
Yes. Create services like hair colour or smoothing with short, medium and long variants. Each variant has its own price, and the cashier simply picks one.
Can services and products be paid together?
Yes. Treatments are Service items and retail products are Product items in the same catalog. Both go into the same cart, and product stock goes down when the bill is paid.
Does Salesmaster have appointment booking?
No. There is no booking calendar. Keep appointments in the book or calendar you already use, and when the client arrives, keep their bill with Save order until they are done.
Can Salesmaster calculate stylist commission?
Not automatically. Write the stylist's name in the sale note so it can be checked, and record wages and commission paid as expenses in Finance so your net profit stays accurate.
Can I see each client's history?
Yes. Save the client at checkout and their purchase history is kept, including the services they had and any notes on the sale, such as the colour formula.
Can the salon keep working when the internet is down?
Yes. Sales are saved on the device and sync when the internet is back. Offline mode works for up to 7 days before the app needs to connect.
Can my front-desk staff use their own device?
Yes, with staff accounts. One account signs in on one device at a time, so staff use a staff device and sign in with a PIN. Staff accounts come with Bronze Pro (1 staff) and Silver Pro (2 staff).
